Wings4Life Run – Train 2024
Wings for Life is an international charitable foundation with the aim of supporting and promoting research into spinal cord injuries. The foundation was established in 2004 by Heinz Kinigadner, a former motocross world champion, and two-time Formula 1 world champion Jean Todt.
The main goal of Wings for Life is to promote the healing of spinal cord injuries and to help people with spinal cord injuries. The foundation funds projects and research worldwide that aim to make groundbreaking advances in the treatment of spinal cord injuries. This may include the development of new therapeutic approaches, medical technologies and rehabilitation techniques.
Another characteristic feature of Wings for Life is the annual event called the “Wings for Life World Run”. This is a global charity run in which people around the world start at the same time, with proceeds going directly to the foundation’s research projects. The highlight of this run is that there is no fixed finish point – instead, the runners are caught up by a virtual catcher car that starts after a certain time. This concept is intended to symbolize that research in the field of spinal cord injuries should continue until a cure is found.
